China landslide leaves 100 missing in Sichuan.More than hundred people are feared buried in a landslide in Sichuan province in south-western China. About 40 homes were destroyed in Xinmo village, Maoxian County, after the side of a mountain collapsed. A rescue operation is now under way to try to locate and rescue the missing. The landslide blocked a two-kilometre stretch of a river.
A couple and a baby were rescued and taken to hospital after teams of workers used ropes to move large rocks, AFP news agency reports, citing local authorities.
